Fire-resistant and soundproof doors are available in wooden and steel versions. Finished products must meet the fire resistance requirements specified in the design and must be manufactured by companies with production licenses approved by the public security department.

All metal components must be arc-welded. Welds must be free of defects such as incomplete melting, unwelded vents, cracks, and burn-through. After the steel frame is straightened, it should conform to specifications. Finished products should have a factory certificate of conformity and be verified against the drawings to ensure compliance with design requirements.

When manufacturing soundproof doors, the door leaf core should be filled with ultra-fine glass wool or rock wool, but it should not be compressed tightly; it should be kept loose to ensure sound insulation.

Fire-resistant and soundproof doors should be installed flush with the wall surface in the opening direction of the door leaf.

The installation of wooden fire-resistant and soundproof door frames and leaves is the same as that of wooden door frames and leaves.

The gap between the door leaf and the door frame should be filled with elastic materials such as sponge rubber strips embedded in the grooves on the door frame and firmly glued in place. The cross-sectional dimensions of the sponge rubber strip should be 1mm larger than the width of the groove on the door frame and protrude 2mm from the frame edge to ensure that the gaps are tightly sealed when the door is closed.

The overlap joint of double-leaf soundproof doors should be made into a double L-shape. A sponge rubber strip should be installed in the middle of the overlap joint. When the door is closed, the sponge rubber strip should be squeezed tightly on both sides of the overlap joint, leaving a 2mm gap between the door leaves. The wood at the joint should not be in direct contact with each other.

Fireproof soundproof doors should be approximately 20mm smaller than the installation opening. The door frame should be firmly connected to the wall, and any gaps should be filled with heat-resistant material. Installation should be done with care to ensure straightness and avoid sawing. If sawing is unavoidable, the sawn surface must be coated with one coat of fire-retardant paint. After chiseling the hardware parts, one coat of fire-retardant paint should be applied to the chiseled area. Expansion bolts should be used to connect the fireproof soundproof door to the wall. If wooden blocks are used, they must be fireproofed. Fireproof soundproof doors must be equipped with door closers.

For soundproof doors, artificial leather should be used for wrapping. Rock wool blankets should be filled between the artificial leather and the wooden door leaf. Then, double-layered artificial leather strips should be regularly pressed onto the door leaf surface and secured with tacks. The artificial leather surface should be tightly wrapped and taut.

A 5mm wide gap should be left between the bottom of the soundproof door leaf and the ground. A 3mm thick rubber strip should be secured to the bottom of the door leaf with a long, flat iron rod. The rubber strip should extend 5mm where it contacts the ground to seal the gap between the door leaf and the ground.

For soundproof and fireproof doors requiring waterproofing, the door leaf can be made of fire-resistant fiberboard, with 5mm thick asbestos boards nailed to both sides. It should then be fully wrapped with No. 26 galvanized iron sheet. The exposed door frame should also be wrapped with galvanized iron sheet.

When installing a fireproof and soundproof door leaf with a reinforced concrete frame into the door frame recess, the gaps between the leaf and the frame around the perimeter should be adjusted to ensure the door leaf is straight. The upper and lower door hinges must be on the same vertical line. When welding them to the pre-embedded iron in the door frame, their positions should be corrected to prevent displacement and deformation. The installation positions of the upper and lower latches, door bolts, and handles should be accurate, and they should be welded securely after trial installation. After installation, multiple opening and closing tests should be conducted. Only after passing the inspection should the door frame be painted and the hardware parts coated with fire-retardant paint.

The hardware of the soundproof door should be compatible with its function; for example, silent hinges should be selected.

Sound waves mainly penetrate through the door leaf and door gaps. Therefore, to obtain a high-sound-insulating door, these two aspects must be addressed.
